The Great Sunflower Growing Competition

17th September 2018

Every year we hold our sunflower competition. The children plant their bulbs in summer term and then we watch them grow, ready to measure when we return from our summer holiday.

Sadly, this years sunflowers haven't quite grown as tall as usual - the children think this might be because we haven't had much rain this summer and we know plants need water to grow.

Puffin and Kingfisher classes worked together to measure the sunflowers and we found out that the tallest one was Bonnie's at 2m 28cm tall!  Well done Bonnie!
